Youth Diversion Project

Youth Diversion Project

Ennis, Kilrush & Shannon
Engage with young people who are involved in or who are at risk of becoming involved in anti-social or criminal behaviour. Our work is based on the voluntary participation of young people.

What do we do?

Youth Justice workers engage young people in programmes that are designed for them with their input.

These Programmes include

  • Group/Programme work – Working together on identified issues so that young people can make positive informed decisions.
  • Drop-In Space/Chill Out – Open and welcoming safe space for young people.
  • Individual Support – Supporting young people as the need rises in relation to issues that are relevant to them.

Who can take part?

Referrals are made to the Project from the Juvenile Liaison Officer and An Garda Síochána . We also consider referrals from schools /welfare services/ families or young people in difficulty. The Project is open to young people aged 12 to 17 years of age involved in, or at risk of involvement in criminal and/or anti-social behaviours.
