The Youth Centre, Carmody St, Ennis

In the evenings and weekends the Community Training Centre gives way to the Youth Project which operates every weekend and on several evenings. The project aims to provide a safe space, free from judgement, where young people can socialise, develop and learn with the support of trained Youth Workers. Young people, Youth Workers and volunteers work in partnership to create a space where all young people have the opportunity for creative expression, real responsibility, voice, and the chance to be themselves, relax or learn new skills.  The following programmes and events form part of what is created here.

The Youth Led Ennis Music Project also operates from this space providing practice, tuition and performance opportunities for teenagers.  There is a fully equipped band space and recording studio.  All genres of music are welcome and encouraged – over several decades the project has grown due to the interests of the young people involved at any time. The project also participates in the Youth Work Ireland –  Irish Youth Music Awards(IYMA’s) where young people get to perform on a national stage and meet young people from all over the country.
