The CYS Integration project was setup to provide safe spaces to help teenagers newly arrived in Clare who were seeking sanctuary in Ireland as part of the International Protection Programme or escaping the war in Ukraine. This space allows young people to meet socialise, get to know more about each other and engage in a range of activities. For Irish teenagers the project provides a safe, supported and structured space to meet their new neighbours, learn what they have in common, what differences they have, and to build a common understanding from first hand experience while having fun in the usual youth work setting.
Activities are set up to suit the interests of the young people and can include: Creative projects through Art, Music Space, Sport, Basketball, Soccer, Circus Skills, Kayaking Community Mural Project and Trips away.
